Deploy and configure PBX systems, voice gateways, routers, switches, and other telephony-related hardware and software. Telephony Infrastructure Management: Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot telephony networks to ensure high availability and reliability. Perform routine system upgrades, patches, and enhancements. Technical Support and Troubleshooting: Provide technical support to end-users and IT staff for telephony-related issues. Troubleshoot and resolve network connectivity, voice quality, and other telephony system problems. Security and Compliance: Implement and maintain security measures to protect telephony systems from potential threats or vulnerabilities. Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards related to telecommunication systems. Documentation and Reporting: Create and maintain technical documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, and procedures. Generate reports and metrics to assess system performance and identify areas for improvement. Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, networking, and security teams, to integrate telephony systems with existing infrastructure. Communicate effectively with stakeholders to understand business requirements and provide technical recommendations. Qualifications and Skills: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience). Proven experience as a Telephony Engineer or in a similar role. In-depth knowledge of telephony systems, protocols, and technologies (e.g., VoIP, SIP, PBX systems). Experience with telephony hardware/software from various vendors (Cisco, Avaya, etc.). Strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols (TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, etc.). Certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or equivalent are beneficial. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
