Manager - Safety, Health & Environment - Civil

Develop sound management practices in order to manage health, safety and risk exposure, and liability for ourselves and the program.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Responsible for putting in place a systematic method of identifying, analyzing, evaluating, treating, monitoring and communicating risks.

  • Accountable for having a solid understanding of the contract requirements and communicating them to the project team.

  • Ensure that all parties involved in a project are working to meet the same goals and they understand expectations.

  • Participate in the selection and award of contracts by determining which contractors are in the best position to fulfill contractual responsibilities.

  • Check technical standards are translated into contract deliverables.

  • Monitor the implementation of the program quality management system

  • Work with project teams to manage risk associated with project delivery contract type.

  • Provide risk advice to project teams so they can successfully plan, develop, implement and complete projects while maintaining high professional standards.

  • Management of claims and loss control activities Formulates, develops, and coordinates all safety and loss control functions of the program.

  • Designs and directs a program to reduce accidents, occupational illnesses, and exposure to long-term health hazards.

  • Monitors policies, procedures, programs, standards, and design criteria affecting construction safety on multiple construction projects.

  • Ensures contractor’s safety engineers perform safety-training of all managers, planned inspections, skill training, first-aid care, emergency preparedness, proper job instruction, new employee indoctrination, physical protection, planned job observation, rules and practices, job analysis/procedures, disposal procedures, and protective equipment

  • Routine equipment and facilities inspection, and worker observation with corrective action recommendations provided to contractor’s safety engineers.

Minimum Requirements

  • 10 + years experience managing HSE & Risk programs on large scale projects.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in a relevant field.
