About the team
Careem Grocery is on a mission to reinvent the way people shop for grocery, pharmacy and retail products. As an exciting new vertical within Careem (a startup within a startup), we’re in the early stages of building our product and have plenty of interesting and fundamental challenges to solve in order to achieve our ambitious growth goals in this burgeoning space.
As a Launch Operations Manager, you’ll be responsible for supporting the Head of Launch in designing our expansion strategy and for overseeing all operations related to a city launch. This is a unique role with the opportunity to create genuine impact for the lives of everyday people in our region.
What you'll do
- Work closely with our Head of launch to design and implement the launch strategy and adapt it to each market
- Be the launch owner for any new geography expansion
- Drive the execution of all city launch tasks to hit launch timelines including overseeing launch operations
- Manage several projects at a time, communicate and find solutions to all obstacles at all times
- Partner with legal and GR teams to support in securing all regulatory, permitting, and license approvals to operate in Quik markets
- Lead the setup of all functions for launch including Real Estate, Buildout, Commercial, and Operations
- Create and continuously iterate the launch playbook for each market
- Communicate and partner with various different internal and external stakeholders (including Real Estate team, Construction team, vendors)
What you'll need
- At least 4+ years of experience in Operations, expansion management roles, strategy consulting, or similar. Time spent in tech or a start-up is a plus
- Sophisticated analytical capabilities is a must, you’re comfortable working with large data sets to extract insights - SQL is a big plus
- Experience with project management
- Proven influencing and persuasion skills to lead and provide key commercial input into strategic decisions
- You are an excellent communicator with any audience with stellar stakeholder management - You can easily explain complex concepts to people of any level
- Grittiness. You never hesitate to roll up your sleeves and address something hands-on, you persevere when others fall away

- Even though we are working remotely, we are strong believers in collaboration and the power of building social connections with our teams. For that reason, our offices are still open and provide plenty of collaboration-friendly spaces at times when teams need it or if you need a quiet space to work outside of home.
- You’ll be working in the location you’re hired from. Due to legal and compensation considerations, you will need to be based out of the country you’re hired from as your primary work location.
